Science on Tap - Sex Ed – Clinton Street Theater Science on Tap is a science lecture series where you can sit back, enjoy a pint, and laugh while you learn. You don’t have to be a science geek to have fun—all you need is a thirst for knowledge! LOCATION: Clinton Street Theater, 2522 SE Clinton Street, Portland, Ore. COST: $8 online advance tickets, $10* suggested cover at the door DESCRIPTION: On October 31, 2011, the world’s population reached 7 billion, 2 years ahead of projections by the United Nations. High birth rates are associated with developing countries where access to family planning services are limited. Inadequate contraceptive options and accessibility are also issues in the U.S. where ~50% of all pregnancies are unintended. At this Science on Tap, Jon Hennebold, PhD, Associate Scientist in the Division of Reproductive & Developmental Sciences at OHSU, will talk about research toward developing effective and safe contraceptive methods for couples seeking family planning options.
